Global Defence Force Tactics - Mission 1
Global Defence Force Tactics - Mission 1
Title: Global Defence Force Tactics (EU) Developer: Sandlot / thinkArts Publisher: D3 Publisher (JP), Essential Games (EU). Platforms: PS2. A turn based strategy game taking place during the conflict of Global Defence Force. That's a really cool concept, especially considering how awesome GDF is, but sadly this game doesn't do it justice. First off, the graphics. They're terrible, this game looks like it was made for the Super Nintendo, that is if you ignore the completely pointless Battle Animations (They get tiring quickly). I haven't played a whole lot of it yet, I've really only completed two missions so far. The game does seem to have some depth to it though, with a variety of units with different attributes, different weapons and ability to level up with experience. But I really don't understand why you need to play (Well, skip) the reinforcement turn when you no longer have any units left in reserve. Controls are fairly simple anyway (Even though the turn structure is a bit odd) and you do have a few options how to use your units. You can conquer and use structures on the maps to heal or re-supply (Refill ammunition) your units, your reinforcements are taken out from your barracks, and you must also be sure to protect your headquarters building, since it's destruction will cause a mission failure. Before missions you must also select which units to use in battle. Some unit types are mandatory to use, but can be complemented by units of your choice although you do ...

Tribes Ascend: Technician as Mr Base Defence
If you are interested in trying this game, you can use this link - account.hirezstudios.com to sign up and download it. A look at the Technician in Tribes Ascend, his equipment, role and tactics within the game from the view of a dedicated base defender. I play a highly aggressive style of defense, emphasizing the needs of the team over my own ego, making use of turrets as sources of early warning more than kill-cash. I favour the SMG for a constant stream of DPS and ability to easily bring down airborne targets (as my fights are often in fairly closed areas) though the thumper is great for AOE, high damage per shot and against larger numbers. My priorities are Generator, Radar, Base Turrets, Deployables because without the generator nothing works, and without the radar it is much harder to maintain situational awareness. Turrets aren't the be all and end all for defence, and a good HOF will have more tools than his force field to rely on until power gets restored. A good tech sways the game by making the overall job easier for the team, freeing others from having to babysit the generator and ensuring that basic level of intel on enemy movement in/around the base is never interrupted for long. Done right you become an annoyance for the enemy team by: preventing them powering you down, causing a need for more forces to be thrown at you (and consequently less everywhere else), and ensuring the enemy must face more troops on every front (because few, if any, need to be ...

British Defence Secretary Thanked Georgia for Contribution to Afghanistan 2011-02-16 "Some of small countries, including Georgia, that have been involved in Afghanistan operations have made a disproportionate contribution. They should be extremely proud of what they have done, and all democratic politicians should be willing to thank them whenever we can", - British Defence Secretary Liam Fox declared. He has delivered the latest Government quarterly update on Afghanistan to Parliament, highlighting the growing force levels and ability of Afghan security forces as the key to progress. Former Europe Minister Denis MacShane MP, the member of Labor Party has addressed to Liam Fox. more Georgian soldiers have died in Afghanistan and Georgia has sent more soldiers to help NATO than many other NATO states, - He said.

Оборона Москвы 1941 / Defence of Moscow 1941
As early as Jul 1941, the Russians knew the Germans were going to breach their defenses and threaten Moscow. On 3 Jul, Lenin's body was moved from Moscow to Tumen to prevent German capture or destruction. Little over two weeks later, on 22 Jul, 127 German bombers raided Moscow, even lightly damaging the Kremlin. As a response, Moscow ...

Shinken-do SELF DEFENCE
Shinken-do SELF DEFENCE
Sometimes, violence comes despite the best possible avoidance measures, and when it does, there is often no opportunityto summon help. In those cases, a woman is forced to face her attacker alone, using only her resources and knowledge to survive. Fortunately, women who are properly trained and confident in their ability to protect themselves can do so effectively. "Fighting back" is a difficult and uncomfortable subject for many people to think about, but it does not have to be that way. Being a victim stays with you for life, once you cross through that turnstile in life, at that point you will never be the same person again. It's not as hard as you think to learn to defend yourself, but it's much harder than you think to recover from a rape or assault. Crime is on the increase and is often blind to age, ethnic background, religious persuasion or your sex.

Tai Chi: Push Hands: Double Self Defence Way.
www.taijiworld.com MTG338 Push Hands: This Is How We Do It. Volume One: Double Push Hands On this DVD, Erle Montaigue takes you from scratch, exactly how to perform REAL push hands. Not the silly, "you push me, I push you" type where both partners have huge low open stances but rather a self defence type of push hands, that teaches you how to fight at a sub-conscious level. The power for striking and defence comes from push hands and the more you practice, the more powerful you will become. All of the correct muscle groups are exercised for self defence and not for competition. This series is a must for anyone wishing to advance in their Tai Chi training and indeed in their self defence ability over-all. Anyone, from any system will gain great power by practising this method. www.taijiworld.com

Zombie Defence - Development 2
Gameplay footage from test on bnet EU. Allthough it might not appear that lot has changed, but it has. Tweaking on spawns, spells, abilities, terrain. Test with 1-4 players which is probly the amount of players allowed in final version. Minor problems with boss being too difficult and some waves being too easy with 3+ players. Also couple bugs that needed fixing *gameplay appears faster than it actually is* I cant find better recording settings... Will be a while before next test. Since its fairly time consuming on making the AI and testing that it works well.

Russian "Pechora-2M" Air Defence System (P1/2)
Russian "Pechora-2M" Air Defence System (P1/2)
Since Russia replaced most of its S-125 sites with SA-10 and SA-12 systems, they decided to upgrade the S-125 systems being removed from service to make them more attractive to export customers. Released in 2000, the Pechora-2 version features better range, multiple target engagement ability and a higher probability of kill (PK). The launcher is moved onto a truck allowing much shorter relocation times. It is also possible to fire the Pechora-2M system against cruise missiles. In 1999, a Russian-Belarusian financial-industrial consortium called Oboronitelnye Sistemy (Defense Systems) was awarded a contract to overhaul Egypt's S-125 SAM system. These refurbished weapons have been reintroduced as the S-125 Pechora 2M. Later the same year, the Russian version was upgraded again to the Pechora-M which upgraded almost all aspects of the system - the rocket motor, radar, guidance, warhead, fuse and electronics. There is an added laser/infra-red tracking device to allow launching of missiles without the use of the radar. There is also a version of the S-125 available from Russia with the warhead replaced with telemetry instrumentation, for use as target drones. S-300 V Air Defence System - Military Video
S-300 V Air Defence System - Military Video
The 9K81 S-300V Antey-300 (Russian 9К81 С-300В Антей-300 - named after Antaeus, NATO reporting name SA-12 Gladiator/Giant) is a bit different from the other versions. It was built by Antey as opposed to Almaz.[6] The V suffix stands for Voyska (ground forces). It was designed to act as the top tier army air defence system, providing a defence against ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and aircraft, replacing the SA-4 'Ganef'. The "GLADIATOR" missiles have a maximum engagement range of around 75 km (47 miles) while the "GIANT" missiles can engage targets out to 100 km (62 miles) and up to altitudes of around 32 km (100000 ft). In both cases the warhead is around 150 kg (331 lb). While it was created from the same project (hence the common S-300 designation) different priorities resulted in a design quite different from the other versions. The S-300V system is carried on tracked MT-T transporters, which gives it better cross-country mobility than even the S-300Ps on 8x8 wheeled transporters. It is also somewhat more distributed than the S-300P's. For example, while both have mechanically-scanned radar for target acquisition (9S15 BILL BOARD A), the battery level 9S32 GRILL PAN has autonomous search ability and SARH delegated to illumination radar on TELARs. The early 30N6 FLAP LID on the S-300P handles tracking and illumination, but is not equipped with autonomous search (later upgraded). Silat - Knife Defence (Part 1)
Silat - Knife Defence (Part 1)
First volume in the knife defence series. This video looks at a series of progressive knife drills to gradually take someone from no understanding of knife defence to at least a rudimentary basis for effectively defending themselves against a knife. These drills must be practiced regularly, obsessively and with high intensity to be worth anything Some fundemental knife defence techniques including basic entries and disarms. It is essential to note a few things when tackling a knife: 1) knives are SHARP - they do not rely on a high level of force to be able to damage. For this reason, a knife attacker will not massively telagraph a slash or a stab. It will be quick, brutal and deadly. 2) Knives move quickly. An attacker set on killing you does not just do "a move" then wait for your response. They will be aiming to put as many holes in you in a 5 second period as possible. 3) You WILL get cut - just make sure you get cut on your terms, not on your attacker's terms. 4) You will be scared...REALLY scared. Use it! 5) NEVER, EVER train unrealistically - Taking things down a notch can be really useful, but always bear in mind what works and what doesn't. Your agressor is a living, breathing person and has just as much ability to think and move as you do. 6) You WILL have to hurt the attacker. There are arts that teach passive tactics. It is my opinion (and it is just an opinion) that this is a bad idea!
